WATKINS GLEN — The Greene Trojans girls’ swim team traveled to Watkins Glen over the weekend for the final round of the Class C championship. The Trojans finished eighth out of a total of nine teams with 54 points.

Greene’s Haylee Erceg reached the finals in the 200 free after earning a 15th place finish in the preliminary swim. Erceg finished 15th again on Saturday, only dropping a few seconds off her time. She swam the event in 2:45.97 compared to 2:48.95 the previous time. Erceg also swam in the 500, where she came in 15th place with a time of 7:47.94.

As a team, Brihana Silva, Corrine Dicenzo, Louise Mendolia, and Joycelynn Abbis competed in the 200 free relay, finishing seventh with a time of 3:03.66. Mendolia, Erceg, Dicenzo, and Jenivieve Heatherman earned a sixth place finish (6:12.53) in the 400 free relay to round out the championship.
