Greene boys' fall on the road against Newark Valley

NEWARK VALLEY—The Greene Trojans boys' basketball team traveled to take on non-league opponent Newark Valley on Wednesday night. Greene fell 65-23 in the 2025-26 season opener.

Newark Valley showed right away how competitive they were, scoring 24 points in the opening quarter. Greene tried to catch up with a three from Keegan Waltz and buckets by Jacob Eroshevich, Kane Winn, Cooper Davis, and John Mulroy., but could not contain their fierce opponent.

Eli Eggleston and Eroshevich contributed in a slow second quarter for the Trojans' offense before the break.

Greene looked to regroup, but just could not find a rhythm offensively.

Eroshevich led the team with seven points as Waltz had five points. Eggleston finished with four points as Winn, Davis, Lee Dopp, and Mulroy all added two points each.

Greene (0-1) hosts non-league opponent Cincinnatus tonight at 7:15 p.m.
