BAINBRIDGE - The Rotary Club of Bainbridge has awarded a $2,161 grant, supported by a matching grant from the CNY Rotary Foundation, to purchase new freezers for the Bainbridge Soup Kitchen and the Bainbridge Food Pantry. The project, "Keeping Hope Fresh- Freezers for Hunger Relief," strengthens two volunteer-run programs that provide essential food support to local families. Representatives Paula Griffith and Sue Shove attended a Rotary meeting where the grant support was formally acknowledged.
"The new freezer means we can store more meals safely and serve more families without interruption," said Paula Griffith of the Bainbridge Soup Kitchen.
The equipment will supplement aging units and help both programs meet growing demand. As federal subsidies continue to shrink, more families are turning to local services for dependable food assistance, making reliable food storage more essential than ever. Both programs are located at 27 North Main Street, Bainbridge, NY 13733.
