NHS wrestling competes in the Battle in the Valley
RICHMONDVILLE— The Norwich Purple Tornado wrestling team competed in the Battle in the Valley over the weekend at Cobleskill-Richmondville High School. Norwich sent seven wrestlers in a tough tournament.
Jadyn Carpenter went 1-2 with a 2:33 pin against Cobleskill-Richmondville’s Collin Yorke.
Koltyn Collins went 2-1 with a win by forfeit and a 4:52 pin against Cobleskill-Richmondville’s Jaden Helton.
Kolden Downey also went 2-1 with a win by forfeit and had a win by 1:35 pin against Cobleskill-Richmondville’s Weston Weir.
Ethan Shapley had a quick :38 pin against Cobleskill-Richmondville’s Nashon Jackson and fell in his other two matches as Konner Philbrook went 1-2 with a win by forfeit.
Collin Howe and Kolby Vielandi fell in their matches.
Junior Maverick Beckwith traveled to Delaware over the weekend and competed in the Beast of the East tournament, where he finished seventh in the 150 weight class.
Norwich heads to the Windsor Christmas tournament on December 29 and 30.
