UV indoor track competes in A.M. session of the Section IV Classic

CORTLAND — The Unadilla Valley Storm indoor track team competed in the morning session of the Section IV Classic, where the girls finished eighth and the boys in 16th place. Full results can be found on ny.milesplit.com.

UV:

Girls’ Track:

The Storm girls finished eighth with 26 points. The UV girls’ sprint medley relay team took second with Molly Gorrell, Madison Dix, Noelle Fernandez-Naughton, and Natalya Schrag finishing in a time of 4:48.08, behind Vestal’s 4:42.10.

Margaret Kemnah, Madison Dix, Molly Gorrell, and Natalya Schrag finished fourth in the 4000 meter distance medley relay with a time of 14:47.26.

Kemnah ran to a sixth place finish in the 1000 meters with a time of 3:41.64. Sydnee Studer finished 19th in the same event with a time of 4:17.32.

Cheyenne McMahon and Marasynn Bates both competed in the 55 meter dash, where McMahon came in 14th with a time of 8.44 seconds as Bates finished 31st with a time of 9.16 seconds.

Bates also took third in the 1500 meter race walk with a time of 10:54.59.

Molly Gorrell finished sixth in the 600 meter run with a time of 1:56.18 with Schrag right behind in seventh in a time of 1:56.66.

Noelle Fernandez-Naughton came in eighth place with a time of 47.83 seconds as McMahon finished 13th with a time of 49.96 seconds and Sophia Bell in 18th (51.39 seconds) in the 300 meter dash.

Bell finished eighth in the 55 meter hurdles with a time of 10.24 seconds.

Girls’ Field:

Noelle Fernandez-Naughton took third in the triple jump with a jump of 30 feet, eight and a half inches to lead the Storm in the fielding events.


Boys’ Track:

The Storm boys finished 16th with four points in the meet. Ben Kemnah, Donovan Ballard, Killian Wood, and Jake Favinger came in ninth place in the sprint medley relay with a time of 4:21.21.

Aidan James finished 17th in the 1000 meter run with a time of 3:18.83.

Ballard came in 21st in the 55 meter dash with a time of 7.66 seconds with Thomas Harrington in 41st of 42nd place with a time of 9.76 seconds.

Jake Favinger took fourth in the 1600 meter run with a time of 5:02.31 as Ben Kemnah finished 21st in the 600 meter run with a time of 1:43.45.

Ballard and Peyton Nelson both competed in the 300 meter dash, where Ballard finished 27th with a time of 45.54 seconds and Nelson came in 30th with a time of 46.65 seconds.

Boys’ Field:

Killian Wood and Peyton Nelson both competed in the long jump. Wood finished 14th with a jump of 15 feet, six and a quarter inches with Nelson in 16th with a jump of 14 feet, 11 inches.
