SHERBURNE — Friends of Rogers Environmental Education Center will be hosting their 47th Annual Winter Living Celebration from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., Saturday, February 7, located at 2721 State Route 80 in Sherburne.
Family activities will include snowshoeing and cross-country skiing, sleigh rides, cross-cut saw demonstrations, New York State Department of Environmental Conservation Ice Rescue demonstrations, live music in the sugar shack, roasting marshmallows at the campfire pits, crafts and much more.
“It should be stellar, we’ve got everything going on this year,” said Friends of Rogers Community Engagement Coordinator Gill Polk.
The Winter Living Celebration is one of Rogers’ largest events of the year and draws in about 1,000 attendees.
Chenango County Historical Society and Museum Executive Director Jessica Moquin said the Historical Society will be available at the event through their Maple Sugar Heritage collaboration.
“We will be in and around our Maple Sugar Shack throughout the day, sharing the rich history and cultural significance related to sugaring in Chenango County, with particular focus on a couple of innovations associated with the maple syrup industry,” said Moquin.
