Open Farm Day Informational Luncheon to be held February 12

NORWICH — The Open Farm Day Informational Luncheon, sponsored by Commerce Chenango and Cornell Cooperative Extension (CCE) Chenango County, will be from 11 a.m., to 1 p.m., February 12, in the Commerce Chenango building, located at 19 East Main Street in Norwich.


“Please note we have changed the meeting place from previous flyers sent out, and it is now going to be held in the Commerce Chenango building,” said CCE Agriculture Economic Specialist Rich Taber.


Taber said the free luncheon invitation is for Chenango County Farms and Agricultural businesses only. Each business may register a maximum of two owners or employees.

“Open Farm Day is not just for food producers, we are looking to invite forestry oriented businesses and maple syrup producers too,” he said.

Taber explained the focus of the meeting is to plan for the 2026 Open Farm Day, review last year, and explore ways to showcase local products and to promote fresh wholesome foods.


“We'll review regulations for the event and why it benefits Farmers and Ag businesses,” said Taber.
