Oxford girls fall to Delhi

DELHI--The Oxford Blackhawks girls’ basketball team traveled to take on Delhi in a MAC league match-up on Thursday night. Oxford suffered a 62-21 loss to their tough opponent, who is unbeaten in the league.

Delhi came out strong with a game-high 22 points in the first quarter. The Lady Bulldogs continued to stay up tempo, where Oxford could not contain them defensively. The Lady Blackhawks were also limited offensively in the loss.

Oxford’s Jordan Palmer, ReesAnne Tefft, Raine Rovente, and Paige Rickard all finished with four points each. Abby Stone added a three-pointer in the fourth quarter as Margaret Rovente had a basket in the first quarter.

Oxford (9-6, 4-4) hosts another tough league opponent as they face Unatego on Monday at 7:15 p.m.
