O-G wrestling finishes sixth at Sectional Qualifiers

NEWARK VALLEY— The Oxford-Greene wrestling team competed at the Section IV, Division II Qualifier B event, whereas a team, O-G finished sixth with 103.5 points.

Kade Mustin became a Class Champion after winning the 132 pound weight class with a 3-0 record, including two wins by tech falls and a win by forfeit.

Donte Wrench took second in the 285 weight class with a 2-0 record. He won by a quick :35 pin against SVEC’s Jak Smith and pinned Oneonta’s Eli Daggy in a 1:36, but fell in an 8-2 decision against Tioga’s Mark Mccane.

Urijah Dibble finished fourth with a 1-2 record at 285 pounds, where he won in an 8-3 decision over Newark Valley’s Jack Blomberg.

Collin Morlando took fifth at 165 pounds with a limited amount of wrestlers in that weight class. He fell in the only match he faced in a 3:14 pin.

Tallan Davis came in sixth place in the 190 pound weight class with a 3-1 record, all wins by pin.

Troy Braman finished sixth as well with a 2-1 record at 157 pounds with a win by tech fall and in a 2:02 pin.

David Dunckel and Colton Hurlburt both finished sixth in their respective weight classes with records of 1-1. Dunckel pinned Moravia’s Carter Wiley in 2:14. Hurlburt pinned Whitney Point’s Gabriel Smith in :37 seconds.

Anthony Bourn, Jaxson Dicenzo, Evan Johnson, Dawson Parks and Alex Kehl all went 0-2 in their respective weight classes.
