Four local teams represent at Girls’ Section IV Wrestling Finals

BINGHAMTON— The Section IV girls’ wrestling championships took place on Friday evening with Oxford-Greene, BGAH-CV, Norwich, and Unatego-UV all featured at the Visions Veterans Memorial Arena.
Oxford-Greene led all local girls’ wrestling teams with a 15th place finish at Sectionals. Lily Karn took third at 152 pounds as Mira Gaylord came in sixth place at 126 pounds.
Bainbridge-Guilford/Afton/Harpursville-Chenango Valley followed in 16th place with 49.5 points. Madison Farberman took second at 94 pounds as Avamarie Trisvan came in third at 165 pounds.
Norwich’s Aurora Smith took fifth at 165 pounds as the lone female competitor for the Purple Tornado.
Amelia Coulter went 1-2 at 114 pounds for Unatego-UV.

Oxford-Greene:
Maggie Braman: 1-2 at 120 pounds; won in a 10-0 tech fall against Waverley’s Gabbi Sinsabaugh.
Joyce Coston: 1-2 at 132 pounds; won against Sus Valley’s Stringer Peyton in a 1:35 pin.
Mira Gaylord: sixth at 126 pounds with a 3-3 record; three pins.
Lily Karn: third at 152 pounds with a 3-1 record; three pins( :43, :49, and 1:18).
Keisey Marty Franqui: 1-2 at 120 pounds; won in a 10-8 decision against Elmira’s Bella Maggese.
Brayleigh Mustin: 2-2 at 114 pounds; pinned BGAH-CV’s Amber Tyler in :22 seconds.
BGAH-CV:
Gracie Bagg: 0-2 at 120 pounds.
Madison Farberman: second at 94 pounds with a 1:18 pin and a 2:05 pin.
Maria “Bea” Genovesi: 0-2 at 145 pounds.
Sydnie McCloe: 1-2 at 152 pounds; defeated Horseheads’ Lilly Garrabrant with a 2:20 pin.
Taylor Snell: 0-2 at 94 pounds.
Avamarie Trisvan: third at 165 pounds with a 5-1 record; four pins (:52, 1:16, 1:54, and 1:56), lost to Chenango Forks’ Jansen Derzanovich in a 10-0 tech fall.
Amber Tyler: 0-2 at 114 pounds.
NHS:
Aurora Smith: fifth at 165 pounds with a 4-2 record; four pins (:43, :57, 1:06, 1:39).
Unatego-UV:
Amelia Coulter: 1-2 at 114 pounds; pinned Johnson City’s Olivia Rodriguez in :20 seconds.
