NORWICH — The Norwich Youth Softball Organization (NYSO) is proud to announce it has received a $5,000 grant from the RC Smith Foundation to support youth participation in its softball program. The generous contribution will be used to cover player registration fees, helping ensure that more local youth can take part in the upcoming season regardless of financial circumstances.

This funding significantly reduces the cost barrier for families interested in enrolling their children in NYSO. While the grant covers standard registration fees, participants are still responsible for a $10 administrative fee required to participate in the league.

We are incredibly grateful to the RC Smith Foundation for their continued commitment to supporting youth programs in our community. This donation allows us to focus on what matters most; providing a fun, safe, and inclusive environment where young athletes can learn teamwork, build confidence, and enjoy the game of softball.

The RC Smith Foundation has a long-standing history of supporting educational, recreational, and youth-focused initiatives throughout Chenango County. Their investment in NYSO helps strengthen community ties and promotes healthy, active lifestyles for local youth.

Register by March 13, 2026 as the season runs from March 30 to June 19 with uniforms provided and equipment assistance available.
