B-G girls earn trip to Section IV, Class C semis with big win over END

BAINBRIDGE— After defeating Greene in the first round, the Bainbridge-Guilford Bobcats girls’ basketball team stayed home to face the sixth-seed Elmira Notre Dame on Friday night. B-G came away with a big 67-36 victory at home.

The Bobcats added 22 points in the second quarter and then kept the momentum going in the third with 21 points to dominate the boards and also held END to just four players contributing on offense.

Jayslin Henderson led the Bobcats with a double-double, where she had a team-high 17 points and 10 rebounds, along with three assists, and three steals. She went off with nine points in the first quarter.

Marissa Mayo added 14 points with seven rebounds, three steals, and two assists while also going three-for-three at the free-throw line.

The Bobcats overall went seven-for-11 at the line.

Jalyn Winans netted 10 points, along with six rebound and two assists.

Tori Suda added nine points within the second and third quarters to help with offensive efforts while also having four rebounds and two steals.

Emma Kinter hit two three’s in the second quarter for six points and also had five rebounds and three assists.

Kamry Patten had four points and also added five rebounds while Keelan Ammon finished with three points and eighth grader Madisyn Larsen added a bucket in the fourth quarter, along with senior Peyton Umbra, who had two points in the first quarter.

B-G will play visitor to second seeded Union Springs, who knocked off both Harpursville and Unatego, at TC3 on Tuesday at 7:45 p.m., following the Delhi/Moravia game at 6 p.m.

All four teams have a chance to return to TC3 on Saturday at 2 p.m. for the Section IV, Class C finals.
