NORWICH— Following the Norwich girls win, the Norwich Purple Tornado boys’ basketball team took on Chenango Valley at Jack Jones Gymnasium. However, Norwich did not have the happy ending that they would have liked to see, along with the girls.
Norwich fell 72-59 in the Section IV, Class A quarterfinals.
Norwich was down throughout the contest but by smaller margins in the first half in a highly intense game, until Chenango Valley turned up the tempo in the second half, leaving Norwich unable to catch up.
CV went off with 21 points in the third quarter and even led by 12 points late in the fourth quarter to advance.
Kassen Stubb played his final game to the best he could, leading the Purple Tornado with 17 points, including two three-pointers while Carmine Pastore went off with 16 points throughout the contest.
Aiden Young added 11 points in the second and fourth quarters as Cooper Chrystie chipped in seven points and Brayden Adolff with five points off the bench.
Brevin Bennett was fouled, going up for a three-pointers and banked all three free-throws, as the team finished five-for-seven at the line.
Norwich finished the 2025-26 with a 14-6 record. Best of luck to seniors Kassen Stubb, Michael Brunick, and Owen Olds.
