NORWICH – Chenango County 4-H Youth Development announced the 2026 Chenango County 4-H Fair theme, "Once Upon a Fair” with castles, creatures, and all things magical taking center stage.

4-H youth are invited to enter the theme based contest, designing a mythical 2026 fair shirt.

Cornell Cooperative Extension (CCE) 4-H Youth Development Educator Micaela Meseck said all enrolled 4-H youth, ages five to 18, can enter the contest by creating an original design inspired by “Once Upon a Fair”.

Meseck explained, “Once Upon a Fair” is storybook‑ inspired but isn’t based on any specific movie or book; instead, she said it draws broadly from classic fairy‑ tale and storybook elements like castles, enchanted forests, and imaginative illustrations.

The theme is flexible, so participants can easily make it their own.
