MORRIS –  The Gatehouse Coffee Shop & Mercantile, 129 Main Street, Morris, will host an Introspective Weekend on March 14th through 15th, featuring three events centered on renewal, music, and meditation.

The weekend begins Saturday, March 14, from 1 to 3 p.m. with Sacred Writing Circle: Renewal & Awakening, a guided meditation and creative writing gathering inspired by the Spring Equinox. The circle is facilitated by Gianluca Avanzato, a writer and teacher who holds a Master of Divinity from Harvard Divinity School. All are welcome; no prior experience is necessary.

On Sunday, March 15, from 1 to 3 p.m., Sunday Sessions with Chris Riffle features a performance by Chris Riffle backed by Evan Jagels on bass, Wyatt Ambrose on guitar, Blake Fleming on drums and Khalil Jade on vocals. Praised by The New Yorker and featured on Sirius XM, Riffle has shared stages with Patti Smith, Blood Orange, and Joan As Police Woman.

The weekend concludes Sunday from 5 to 6:30 p.m. with a guided Evening Meditation, offering a calm and accessible space to reset for the week ahead.

Since opening in 2023, The Gatehouse has served as a creative hub for the region, blending food, art, and community programming.
