NORWICH – Greater Opportunities of Broome and Chenango County, Inc. plans to build a multi-unit apartment project on the property now known as Flanagan Field, located at Plymouth Street in Norwich.
After winning the bid, the property was surveyed. With acceptance of new division lines and following all approvals, Greater Opportunities will enter into a purchase agreement with the Norwich City School District for the property.
Greater Opportunities received $8 million dollars for the project through the NYS Homes and Community Renewal Home-ARP said Kelly Robertson, Chief Operating Officer at Greater Opportunities for Broome and Chenango, Inc.
Robertson said the new construction will involve a 20-unit residential development, with a mix of one-to-four-bedroom apartments, including ADA-accessible units.
She noted the units will be apartments and look similar to the Red Mill project in New Berlin, with about two units per building.
“We are hoping to break ground in the fall of this year and the project is expected to take about 18 months to complete,” said Robertson.
