B-G and Harpursville/Afton track begin 2026 season at Wednesday’s MAC meet in Sidney

SIDNEY— Over the course of two days with inclement weather, the Bainbridge-Guilford and Harpursville/Afton track and field teams traveled to Sidney High School for a mini MAC league meet. Walton/Downsville had competed on the partial event day on Tuesday, March 31 but could not return for the resumed meet on Wednesday, April 1.

B-G:

Girls' Track:

The B-G girls won the event at Sidney with a total of 93 points with Sidney in second with 84 points and Harpursville/Afton with 34 points in third.

B-G's Jayslin Henderson won the 100 meter hurdles, where she PR'd with a time of 21.05 second as teammate Laila Williams also came away with a new best of 22.75 seconds in third place.

Lalaenia Baldwin, Jalyn Winans, Maddie Ingham, and Macey LaFever were the only team in the girls' 4x800 meter relay with a time of 12:23.49.

Eighth grader Madisyn Larsen took second in the 100 meter dash with a new PR of 13.10 seconds, behind Sidney's leading 12.70 seconds.

Keelan Ammon came in fourth place with a time of 13.53 seconds as Jayslin Henderson took fifth with a new best 14.51 seconds.

Aubrey Schinn finished 10th with a time of 15.37 seconds with Shweta Fazio in 13th with a new PR of 15.71 seconds and Solara Spinella in 16th with a new best 17.02 seconds.

Jalyn Winans took third in the 1500 meter run with a time of 6:02.52.
