S-E flag football comes up short against Jamesville-Dewitt

SHERBURNE— On Thursday, the Sherburne-Earlville Lady Timberwolves flag football team hosted Jamesville-Dewitt in a Class C matchup. S-E fought their way back from a 13-0 deficit in the fourth quarter, but came up short 13-12.

Jamesville-Dewitt led 7-0 in the first quarter and the score would remain until the final quarter. The Red Rams returned an interception back for a touchdown.

S-E got on the board twice in the fourth quarter, but could not convert on extra points.

Emma Webb found Abbie Green twice for passes, including a 50 yard touchdown and then a one-yard touchdown.

Webb went 15-for-28 for 234 yards with two touchdowns and three interceptions. Green threw one complete pass for 23 yards.

Olivia Parker led the Lady Timberwolves on the ground with nine carries for 54 yards.

Cassie Slater had three carries for five yards.

Green led S-E with six receptions for 97 yards with the two touchdown catches.

Parker also had three catches for 84 yards to finish with a 138 yards altogether offensively.

Bella Whorrall finished with five catches for 58 yards as Sadie Davis made two catches for 18 yards.

Kamri Peek caught one pass for one yard.

Davis also led S-E with eight flag pulls on defense as Parker had seven pulls and Ava Flanagan with six pulls.

Parker and Isabella Smith also each had a sack in the contest as Smith finished with five flag pulls as well.

Abbie Green picked up three interceptions.

S-E (0-2) hosts local county opponent Greene on April 15 at 5 p.m.
