Norwich baseball falls to Sus Valley in second game of three game series

NORWICH— The Norwich Purple Tornado baseball team hosted Sus Valley in the second game of a three-game set late Wednesday morning. Norwich fell 19-3.

The Purple Tornado took an early 1-0 lead in the bottom of the first inning as Zac Turner drove in a run with a two-out infield single.

The Sabers took the lead in the top of the second and never looked back.

Norwich, down 14-1, got two back in the bottom of the fifth as Zac Turner struck again with a two-run two-out single to center field.

Turner finished with two hits and three RBIs.

Kolby Redenback and Pierce Sherman also had hits in the loss.

Joey Parker, Owen Olds, Redenback, and Sherman all pitched for Norwich, combining for 19 runs (six earned) on eight hits, 11 walks, and 10 strikeouts. Parker had five strikeouts and Redenback with three strikeouts.

Norwich (0-3) concludes the series with Sus Valley on Friday morning at 11 a.m.
