S-E track competes in CSC Partner Relays at Clinton
CLINTON— The Sherburne-Earlville track and field team traveled to Clinton High School to compete in the CSC Partner Relays.
The Timberwolves boys tied for fourth place with Herkimer, totaling 75 points, and the girls finished eighth with a total of 27 points

Girls:
Track:
Laila Babcock came out victorious in the girls’ 400 meter hurdles with the fastest time of 1:18.75. She also took second in the girls’ 100 meter hurdles with a time of 18.87, behind Morrisville-Eaton’s leading 17.90 seconds. Teammate Marlie Thompson finished ninth with a time of 21.51 seconds.
Isabel MaGrath took second in the 400 meter hurdles, behind Babcock with a time of 1:23.34.
MaGrath also ran in 3000 meters, where she came in third place with a time of 13:04.85.
Freshman Layla Young competed in the girls’ 100 meter dash, where she came in 25th with a time of 18.10 seconds.
Shaelan Ryan ran the 1500 meters, where she finished ninth with a time of 5:47.52.
Field:
Laila Babcock took fifth in the girls’ high jump as she cleared four feet, six inches. Shaelan Ryan cleared three feet, nine inches for 13th place.
Marlie Thompson finished fourth in the triple jump with a jump of 28 feet, eight and 3/4 inches.
Layla Young finished 29th in the girls’ shot put with a throw of 13 feet exactly. Young also threw in the discus, where she finished 26th with a throw of 21 feet, four inches.
Boys:
Track:
Victor Smith won the boys’ 400 meter hurdles with the fastest time of 1:04.09.
Smith, Hadden Price, Owen Kellog, and Charger Simmons all competed in the boys’ 100 meter dash.
Smith came in third place with a time of 11.87 seconds with Price behind him in fourth with a time of 12.17 seconds.
Kellog finished 34th with a time of 14.46 and Simmons in 40th with a time of 15.16 seconds.
Smith took second in the boys’ 200 meter dash with a time of 24.56 seconds, behind Canastota’s leading 23.35 seconds.
Price finished fourth in the same event with a time of 25.12 seconds with Clifford Russett in 11th with a time of 27.22 seconds.
Matthew Morgan finished 26th with a time of 29.86 seconds as Charger Simmons came in 29th with a time of 31.06 seconds.
Price came in third place in the boys’ 400 meter dash with a time of 54.77 seconds.
Brett Lewis and Aaron Romanowski both ran in the 1600 meters, where Lewis came in sixth with a time of 5:32.83 and Romanowski finished 10th with a time of 5:39.84.
Dominick Hirst finished fourth in the 800 meter run with a time of 2:20.08 as Isaac Larchar earned a seventh place finish with a time of 2:27.33.
Russett ran to a 10th place finish with a time of 2:30.46.
As a team, S-E finished fourth in the boys’ 4x100 as Hirst, Russett, Larchar, and Simmons finished with a time of 53.10 seconds.
Larchar, Smith, Russett, and Hirst took second in the 4x400 with a time of 3:58.95, behind Herkimer’s leading 3:55.94.
Field:
Dominick Hirst finished fourth in the boys’ high jump as he cleared five feet exactly.
Isaac Larchar and Matthew Morgan both competed in the long jump, where Larchar came in 11th with a jump of 15 feet, six and a half inches. Morgan finished 17th with a jump of 14-0.50.
Morgan also jumped in the triple jump, where he earned a top 10 finish with a jump of 29 feet, seven inches.
Braden Lewis, Blake Smith, and Owen Kellog all competed in the boys’ shot put. Lewis led the way with an 11th place finish with a throw of 32 feet, nine inches.
Smith finished 26th with a throw of 28 feet, 10 inches as Kellog came in 36th place with a throw of 24 feet, three inches.
The trio also threw in the discus event. Lewis finished seventh with a throw of 106 feet, two inches as Smith came in 14th place with a throw of 89 feet, two inches and Kellog finished 19th with a throw of 81 feet, six inches.
Lewis finished fourth in the weight throw with a throw of 42 feet, eight inches with Blake Smith in seventh with a throw of 30 feet, nine inches.
Lewis and Kellog both competed in the javelin throw, where Lewis earned an eighth place finish with a throw of 84 feet exactly with Kellog in 12th with a throw of 67 feet, four inches.
