OXFORD- The 17th Annual Tim Evans Memorial Golf Tournament Scholarship Fundraiser, benefiting the Chenango County Sheriff’s Shop with a Sheriff Night program, is scheduled for Saturday, June 20, at Bluestone Golf Course in Oxford. A shotgun start is scheduled for 10 a.m.
“We are hoping to have a big turn out,” Ryan Evans, son of Tim Evans and current golf professional said. “Having people there means the world to us.”
The annual tournament serves as a fundraiser each year, and this year the event is supporting the Chenango County Shop with a Sheriff. The program provides local children with the opportunity to shop for holiday gifts alongside members of the sheriff’s office.
Evans and his family saw the fundraising idea in the local Evening Sun and decided the program would be a great thing to support.
The event will feature an afternoon of 18 holes of golf with a cart, food, and prize-winning opportunities with items donated by several local businesses. The family is still in need of donations at this time if you or your business would like to contribute.
The cost per player will be $60 for Bluestone members or $75 for non-members. Checks can be payable to Tim Evans Memorial Golf Tournament, 38 N Canal Street, Oxford, NY 13830.
“This event helps keep the memory of my father alive and we appreciated how much the community helped our family in a rough time and continues to support us.”
