S-E athletes qualify for state track meet
SYRACUSE - Sherburne-Earlville seniors Ashlee Lathrop and Adriane Marcellus earned trips to the New York State Track and Field Meet later this month at St. Lawrence University.
Marcellus ran a school-record 2:17.52 in the 800 meters to finish second overall in Section III. The qualifying time cutoff was 2:18.00.
Lathrop won the small school division title in the discus throwing it 122-11, and was second overall in Section III. Lathrop placed third in the shot put at 36-5.
Additionally, the 400-meter relay team of Marcellus, Danielle Green, Nikki Yerton, and Amanda Collier placed fourth in 53.9.

ORISKANY FALLS - Coming off a 9-5 conference record in the Center State Conference, Sherburne-Earlville’s top two golfers won the two-person Conference tournament title Thursday afternoon at Barker Brook Golf Club.
Senior Brandon Britton and sophomore Corey Fitzgerald had a 157 aggregate to edge the team from Sauquoit Valley, who were unbeaten division champions.
Britton had three birdies and an eagle to fashion a 1-over-par 73 and grab overall medalist honors among the 46 players. Fitzgerald added an 84.
