Head 2 Toe Indulgence opens in Norwich
NORWICH – A new business will be opening its doors this week. Head 2 Toe Indulgence, located at 45 North Broad St., behind Pasquale’s Pizzeria, will be holding its grand opening on Friday.
Molly Cannestra, formerly of Catholic Charities, has partnered with Robert Scherdel of Oneonta to open this multi-faceted shop.
Head 2 Toe will offer tanning, but Cannestra, who worked at the location when it was Sunbeamerz, also plans on offering services that the other area tanning salons do not.
“It will be different than the previous salon, because it will be full service,” she said. Her plans include offering manicures, pedicures, acrylic nails, and massage therapy. Eventually, Cannestra would like to add body wraps, facials and skin care.
Cannestra will be working with state licensed nail technician, Nellie Valashinas, and a state licensed massage therapist who is yet to be named. She has many ideas for expansion in the future.
“My goal is to eventually have a licensed esthetician, offering electrolysis, botox, and microdermabrasions,” Cannestra said.
Cannestra’s decision to open the city business happened organically.
“Everything just fell into place,” she said. “We wanted to open a place that would bring something more to the community,” she said, pointing out that Norwich does not currently have any type of day spa.
The shop offers four tanning beds and one stand-up tanning booth. As part of the opening special, tanning packages will be offered at a 10 percent discount. Nails will begin at $25 for a full set, and you can get an extra 10 minutes of massage for free. In addition, all lotions will be on sale.
Starting Friday, Head 2 Toe Indulgence’s store hours will be Monday and Tuesday 9 a.m to 6 p.m., Wednesday 9 a.m. to 7 p.m., Thursday and Friday 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., and Saturday noon to 2 p.m. Call for an appointment at 336-TANS (8267).
