Susquehanna Valley 1, Greene 0
CONKLIN – Eighth-grader Mary Rood found Kara Gorgos with a through pass for the only goal of the game at the 29-minute mark of the first half in the Sabers’ shutout over Greene Monday.
“It was a player where we simply gave them too much room and didn’t contest the pass,” said Greene coach Randy Smith of the goal. “We didn’t play that well against a team that is pretty good. This was a good warm-up for us.”
Greene hosts Walton Wednesday.

We had some great games today from Chelsea Leibundgut, Alicia Eddy, and Emily Tackabury.”

Oxford 3, Windsor 0
OXFORD – Oxford pounded the Windsor defensive end relentlessly, and it paid off with three second-half goals in Monday’s opening-game victory.
Sophomore Jenna Farwell broke the ice with the first of her two goals 4:51 into the second session. Less than two minutes later, senior Julie Davis scored unassisted. Farwell’s last goal came with under three minute to play.
“We did not play well in our scrimmage and didn’t do much on the offensive end, but today the offense was strong,” said Oxford coach Jenny Davis. “We were bouncing shots off their goalie’s pads in the first half, so it was just a matter of time before we found the goal.”
