OXFORD – Before thunder and lightning ended its second victory over Sidney 12 minutes into the second half, the Blackhawks displayed their own brand of thunder and lightning on offense.
Scoring four goals in the first half, Oxford completed its first regular season sweep over the Warriors in head coach Tim Paden’s memory. “We did have a couple defensive breakdowns, but that was as good as we’ve played on offense all year,” Paden said. “We played a great game.”
Down 2-1 to Sidney after Mike Guerriere’s second goal, Scott Seiler scored the tying tally off a pass from Cory Seiler, and Arik Nisbet netted the go-ahead and game-winner at 29:17 of the first half. Andrew Hubman added an insurance goal for Oxford (5-4-2), who host Walton Saturday night at 6 p.m.

DEPOSIT – Vanessa Pierson, who salvaged a tie for Oxford earlier in the week against Harpursville, had the Blackhawks’ lone goal Thursday at Deposit in a shutout win.
Pierson tipped in Kristen Ballard’s shot with 13 minutes left in the game as Oxford improved to 10-1-1 overall. Deposit finished with no shots on goal in the contest.
The Blackhawks host Hancock Wednesday.

SHERBURNE – Play was halted with 3:54 left due to lightning and thunder, and it ended after Little Falls Olivia Tooley found the cage to salvage a tie with the Marauders Thursday.
The Marauders received goals from Lindsay Manwarren and Karli Harris, and were staked to a 2-1 lead at halftime. “We played well under adversity (missing starting goalie Kayde Low) and Little Falls is a really strong team,” said S-E coach Sheila Cooman. “We would have liked to have the win, but in reality a tie is really good against this caliber of team.”
S-E plays at Mt. Markham Saturday.

“We lost to them 1-0 last time, and that was on a penalty kick,” said OV coach Ron Graham, “but we actually played better in this game.”

NORWICH – Unbeaten Windsor exhibited its better overall depth and talent topping Norwich (1-8) in three games Thursday, 25-11, 26-24, 25-14.
Kelsey Donaldson led the Black Knights (11-0) with 12 assists. “They mixed up their lineup a lot – they are tall and talented as a team,” said Norwich coach Paul Sims.
Mandy Ingraham had three aces and Kayla May two kills for NHS, who are at Whitney Point Tuesday.
