NEW BERLIN – Unadilla Valley lost a two-goal halftime lead, but scored in the final seconds to earn a tie with Oxford Wednesday.
Trailing the Storm 3-1 at halftime, Oxford’s Chris Parks scored a pair of second-half goals to spearhead the comeback, the latter goal coming at 32:20 to push the Blackhawks in front.
Raffi Perry took a cross from Andy Hayes and redirected into the net with seven seconds left to salvage the deadlock for UV. “Sometimes a two-goal lead is tough to hold on to,” said Storm coach Matt Osborne. “I don’t think we played with the intensity we needed in the second half, but I have to give our guys credit for tying the game.”
Austin Beebe and Kilean Maynard added goals for Oxford.
Perry finished with two tallies, while Shayne Wilcox and Hayes picked up goals. UV (7-3-1) visits Sidney Friday at 7 p.m.

Gentile and Banner combined for five goals and four assists, while also taking 16 of their team’s 19 shots on goal. “It was pretty much a repeat of the last game, and their physical style of play gives us difficulty,” said S-E coach Mike Rodriguez. “We like to move the ball around, but we just don’t have the players for a physical game. They won most of the 50-50 balls and knocked us around.”
Gabe Fowler and Travis Tomaselli scored goals for S-E (3-3, 7-4-2), who host Canastota Friday.

Megan Welshko scored off the goalie’s pads in the first half – her first goal of the season – and Karli Harris found the cage off a Courtney Kurtz pass to add insurance. Earlier this season, S-E (5-0-1, 8-2-2) played Mills to a 0-0 tie.
“We played extremely well, and having our full lineup intact and Kayde Low in goal helped our midfield relax,” said S-E coach Sheila Cooman. “Betsy Lewis (Low’s substitute) was able to move back to the front line, and our team played with a lot more confidence. We were a different team tonight.”
The victory for S-E was its sixth by shutout this season.

POLAND – Sherburne-Earlville’s boys were swept in meet scoring for the first time this season Wednesday at Ilion.
The Marauders lost in a tiebreaker to Poland (28-28), and were topped by Ilion (21-38) and Adirondack (23-36). “The guys felt this was as challenging a course as we’ve seen all season,” said S-E coach Anne Geary. “Given the wet conditions, we had a good, overall showing.”
Mitch Boise topped the S-E runners placing second out of 51 runners in 18:28. Brett Buell added an 11th in 20:19.
S-E’s girls did not field a complete team. Leading the Marauders with a 16th out of 34 harriers was Andrea Cruz (30:18).
The Marauders are at Ilion Tuesday.

Using an effective topspin serve, Emily Eichorn served 15 aces against the Tornado to go with 13 assists.
“Coming back the next day didn’t affect us, and I think we played better tonight,” said Norwich coach Paul Sims. “We had a couple close games we weren’t able to finish.”
Norwich led 22-20 in the third game before the Spartans closed out the match.
Mandy Ingraham had seven kills and Kerzia Hopson eight assists for NHS, who fell to Whitney Point Tuesday, 25-18, 19-25, 25-19, 26-24.
Norwich is at Owego Tuesday.
