ACT brings physical therapy and fitness to Sherburne

SHERBURNE – Local politicians, friends and family members were on hand Thursday as the new ACT Physical Therapy and Fitness celebrated its grand opening.
Owner Kimberly J. Maykish cut the ribbon, officially launching her new business. She kept her comments brief. “I’m pleased to be a part of Sherburne. This is such a warm welcoming community,” she said. Maykish, who has been a licensed physical therapist for over 17 years, has experience working with patients of all ages. She will offer treatment for orthopedic, neurological and developmental diagnosis.
In addition, Maykish said it was important for her that ACT not be just for physical therapy but also a place where community members could go to exercise. ACT is offering a Get Fit Exercise Program. For $20 a month, individuals can work out in a “state of the art fitness center.” No contracts are required.
“This is a wonderful addition to the Village of Sherburne. We look forward to the availability of exercise equipment in our village,” said Sherburne Mayor William Acee. “I am confident Kim will experience success here in Sherburne.”
ACT is located at 19 North Main St. Physical therapy will be by appointment only, Monday, Tuesday and Thursdays from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 2 to 7 p.m. and Wednesdays and Fridays from noon to 5 p.m.
