Unadilla Valley 4, Walton 2
WALTON – Walton nearly caught MAC division front-runner Unadilla Valley looking ahead.
The Storm, who were perhaps eyeing a date with Greene on Wednesday for the outright division title, needed to rally from a 2-1 deficit for their 11th win this season. “Both teams had quite a few opportunities in the first half, we just didn’t finish ours,” said UV coach Matt Osborne.
Andy Hayes scored a key tying goal with 90 seconds left in the first half to knot the contest. Mike Bluy put UV up for good about 12 minutes into the second half. “We knew it would be difficult playing on a Monday, and we didn’t play our best soccer,” Osborne said. “We did play a tough second half and shut them out.”
UV hosts the Trojans at 4:30 p.m. A victory for the Storm would clinch the school’s first division title in boys soccer.
