Guernsey plans annual Christmas open house
NORWICH – Guernsey Memorial Library staff and volunteers have dedicated time to ensure the annual holiday open house will spread Christmas cheer to the community.
For over 20 years the library has provided an open house during the holiday season. This year is no different. The library will be celebrating at 7 p.m. Friday and there will be refreshments in the meeting room.
Spreading the cheer will be several students from Perry Browne choir and a performance by the Nowich High School Madrigal Singers under the direction of Mary Mayo.
“This is our thank you to the entire community for another successful year,” Library Director Melanie Battoe said.
The library is anticipating more than 200 people for the event and Battoe says it always is a fun time for anyone who attends.
The Norwich Garden Club helped decorate for the occasion. There are two window displays, one donated by the Chenango County Museum and Historical Society, displaying antique toys and the other donated by Sonny Golden, displaying antique cars and trains.
Other festive decor includes a large tree in the foyer and holiday decorations throughout the building. For more information, call the library at 334-4034.
