Blowout win for Blackhawks

Oxford 65, Sidney 27
OXFORD – It was a far cry from Oxford’s narrow three-point win over the Warriors earlier this month at the Norwich Pennysaver Tournament.
All nine Oxford players found the scoring column, and the Blackhawks outscored Sidney 52-14 over the final three quarters in coasting to a surprisingly easy victory.
“I would not have guessed this,” said Oxford coach Brad Aldrich. “I thought we would win, but it would be close like the last game (48-45).”
Alysa Law scored a season-high 15 points for the Blackhawks (5-2), who have won four straight games. Erin Law added 12 points and Amanda Nightengale nine. “We forced some turnovers out of our press to get us going, and we shot the ball well,” Aldrich said. “It wasn’t like we made 20 layups either. If we can shoot it like we did tonight, we can play with a lot of teams.”
