Cab company offers New Year’s Eve services
Sunday is New Year’s Eve and with bad weather possible in the forecast getting home for many may become more perilous. The local Norwich taxi service, Chenango Jitney and Tours will have it’s drivers working throughout the holiday in order to help people avoid situations that could lead them to driving under the influence.
“A lot of people have been asking us if we were going to be out on New Years. We don’t really make a lot of money but people rely on us,” said Owner Rudolth Inman. The company has been operating on New Years for the last two years.
The cab company is usually closed on Sundays but Inman says as many as three cars will be on for Sunday. For a little extra than the cost of a one way fare home his company will take you home that night and pick you up the following morning and take you back to your car. “If that doesn’t suit peoples needs we will probably have two people in the cabs and if the customer is willing we can drive their vehicle home, following the cab,” said Inman.
