GREENE – MacKensey O’Hara led a six-point surge for Unatego midway through the fourth quarter to help her club stay unbeaten on the season Wednesday.
After Megan McDermott’s basket put Greene up 34-32, O’Hara scored on an inside move, then assisted teammate Blake Shelton on consecutive back-door layups to put her club up by four. O’Hara also blocked a shot late in the game and hit two three-pointers in the first half leading her club with 16 points.
“We just didn’t execute down the stretch, and they did,” said Greene coach Bill Case. “We didn’t defend as well as we needed to, and we made poor decisions on offense.”
Jessica Smith scored 12 points for Greene and McDermott tallid eight of her 10 points in the second half.

SHERBURNE – Five Sherburne-Earlville players reached double figures in its team-record ninth straight victory Wednesday night.
Erin Dowdall had a game-high 15, Karli Harris scored 14, Samantha Crandall netted a season-high 11, while Adrienne Cross and Danielle Green scored 10 apiece for S-E (13-4). “The intensity was there tonight right from the start,” said Marauders coach Jeff Barry.
S-E is at Poland Friday.

ONEONTA – Norwich avoided the fourth-quarter woes that had plagued it in three straight losses to defeat Oneonta for the second time this season and even its mark at 8-8.
Alicia Testani hit a trio of three-pointers in the first quarter scoring 11 of her 16 points as Norwich jumped out to an 18-0 lead. “We got off to a great start, and that certainly made things easier,” said Norwich coach Bob Branham.
Emily Tackabury had a season-best eight points, while Melinda Moore and Kala Haltner split 14 points down the middle. Norwich outscored Oneonta 13-5 in the third quarter and led by as many as 20 points, Branham said.
“We wanted to limit turnovers and get production out of more players,” Branham said. “Tackabury and Haltner stepped up and contributed today.”
Norwich hosts Johnson City Saturday.
