NHS swimmers hold awards banquet

Norwich High School recognized its varsity swimmers at a recent season-ending banquet along with retiring head coach Rick Marchant. Award winners included Cole Adams, Most Outstanding; Kane Streichert, Most Dedicated; Ryan Marchant, Echentile Award; Dan Wenzel, Most Valuable; Evan Wendt, Casamento Award; Trey Ostrom, Most Improved; and Ryan Cambron, Mark Ross, and Nick Follett, who received Coaches’ Awards. Also pictured are coaches Marchant (front left), John Stewart, diving coach, who helped guide Wendt to a second straight state meet and top-20 finish, and team managers Rachel Lorenz and Kerzia Hopson. Norwich’s 2006-2007 squad also won the scholar-athete team award with a team scholastic average of 92.350. Additionally, Adams, Ryan Marchant, and Wenzel garnered Southern Tier Athletic Conference division all-star accolades.
