Columbus man charged with rape
COLUMBUS – New York State Police, Troop C, arrested a man accused of forcibly raping a woman on Sunday. Lance Jeff Mills, Columbus, was charged with first degree rape (a Class B felony) and predatory sexual assault (a Class A felony).
Mills was arraigned in the Town of Norwich Court and remanded to the Chenango County Jail lieu of $100,000 cash bail.
Mills is a registered sex offender with a prior conviction of first degree sexual abuse in 1997. Police said that the investigation is ongoing.
