Oxford Legion bestows awards of appreciation
OXFORD – The American Legion Fort Hill Post 376 celebrated their annual Birthday of the American Legion and membership awards presentation dinner, March 24.
Seven young men from Oxford attended the American Legion Boys State, an exercise in citizenship, from June 26 to July 1. Honoring these 2006 Boys State delegates, Commander Ray Krygier presented each with Certificates of Appreciation. Receiving certificates were (Mrs. James Tynan for) Wesley Tynan, Richard Siefert, Stephen Locke, Eric Betts, Ben Burdick, and Justin Hubman. (Absent was Sean Nichols.) Also in attendance were Mrs. Patricia Marso, Boys State Co-Chair with Paul Estelow.
Membership honors were presented by Commander Ray Krygier and First Vice & Membership Chairman Adam Everitt for most continuous years. Receiving an award for 40 continuous years of membership was Paul Estelow and Gary Rice. For 45 years, Mrs. Patricia Marso and Walter Boname each received awards of continuous membership.
