Oneonta 17, Norwich 5

NORWICH – Oneonta caught lightning in a bottle from the start grabbing a big lead early to hand Norwich a lopsided defeat in the Tornado’s season finale Monday.

Victor Mercurio led off a six-run second with a triple, Lance Potter had an RBI double, Matt Marcewicz followed with an RBI double, Lance Ratchford connected for a two-run single, and Ryan Lynch lashed one of his two doubles driving in a run. “Oneonta is probably one of the best hitting lineups we’ve seen, and we just struggled to get out of that inning,” said Norwich coach John Martinson.

Potter and Marcewicz each went 3-for-4 to lead Oneonta.
