Oxford honors seniors

OXFORD – Oxford recognized its senior softball players and parents before its game with Delhi earlier this week. Players kneeling from the left are Courtney Wiltse, Julie Davis, Alysa Law, Kristen Ballard, and Patty Dalglish. Oxford won the game to finish with eight wins, the most wins for the Blackhawks in six seasons.

Otselic Valley 10, Brookfield 3
SOUTH OTSELIC – Otselic Valley clinched its first postseason appearance in several seasons winning at home Wednesday against Brookfield.
Down a pair of runs early, OV plated seven runs in the third with Kim Lewis Rachel Evans, and Amber Wood connecting for RBI hits. Wood had two hits in the inning, Heather Eaton added a 3-for-5 day with an RBI, and Megan Knickerbocker was 2-for-3 with two runs scored.
“We had a couple errors early and needed to regroup,” said OV coach Eileen Knickerbocker. “The third inning we were swinging the bat like we should, and they girls really wanted to go to sectionals.”
Wood picked up the win surrendering just four Brookfield hits. The Vikings (6-5, 6-7) host DeRuyter today in their regular season finale.
