GREENE – Greene used a pair of four-run innings to defeat G-MU Friday in a non-league battle.
The Trojans (12-7) scored all four runs in the second frame with two outs. Braden Williams, Mike Porter, and Don Amell all drove in runs during the inning. Four innings later, Amell started a second four-spot of tallies with an RBI groundout. Nate Whittaker had an RBI sacrifice fly and Dave Fors singled in a run. “Our younger guys played well today and made plays defensively,” said Greene coach Dave Gorton. “Our seniors made them feel right at home.”
Amell led with two RBI, Porter had two hits and two runs scored, and Corey Breck scored twice.
Tim Sloan was 3-for-4 with an RBI to pace G-MU.

NEW BERLIN – Unadilla Valley hung just the second blemish on Cincinnatus’ mark, albeit a tie, Friday afternoon at Riverbend Golf Club in seniors’ Ken Campbell and Jen Convis’ last regular-season matches.
Campbell went out as medalist with eight pars en route to a season-low 36. UV finishes 3-7-2 and Cincinnatus compiled an 11-1-1 record.

Oxford’s Brown wins MAC title
BAINBRIDGE – While B-G/Afton was sweeping its way to team titles for its boys and girls’ teams at the Midstate Athletic Conference Championships, Oxford posted multiple top-three finishes led by Amanda Brown’s first-place finish.
Brown won the 100-meter dash in 13.9 seconds to highlight the Blackhawks’ day. Trey Seifert was second in the 800 meters (2.07.6) and third in the 1600 meters (4:46.6). Eric Betts had identical finishes as Seifert winding up second in the 200 meters (23.5) and third in the long jump (18-7 3/4).
Oxford’s 1600-meter relay quartet of Betts, James Loughren, Kyle Smith and Seifert was second in 3:40.1.
Earlier in the week, Felicia Tynan was second in the pentathlon scoring 1,918 points, while Smith set a new school record amassing 2,504 points for second place as well. The Class C championships are at Dryden Thursday.
