Traditional “Smithville Day” set for Saturday

SMITHVILLE – For more than 20 years, the Town of Smithville has to come together as a community to sponsor a Main Street parade and afternoon festival.

“Smithville Day is just a time were the whole town can come together as a group and share a part of what they do with each other,” said Chairman BarbaraAnn Whitemore.

The town-sponsored event will take place Saturday, beginning at 9:30 a.m. with one of the popular five kilometer run and walk concluding at about 2 p.m. The grounds for the event will be between the Fire House and Eagle Scout Park. Parking and entry are free.
