Chenango celebrates Dairy Day Saturday

NORWICH – Saturday is the 7th Annual Dairy Day Celebration, meant to honor the work of local dairy farmers and agricultural producers throughout Chenango County.

“It’s great for the farmers and great for the people of Chenango County,” said Robert Briggs, the Afton town supervisor, speaking of Dairy Day. “It gives city people and outlying people an idea of what it takes to run the business and work the farm.”

Briggs is the grand marshall of the Dairy Day Parade, which begins at 11 a.m. on East Main Street near the P&C grocery store and ends at the Chenango County Fairgrounds, where there will be events and activities the rest of the day.
