Police bust three for paintball gun drive-bys

NORWICH – Police have made three arrests following an investigation into a group of underage kids driving around three different townships and firing paintball guns at homes and vehicles late at night.
The Chenango County Sheriff’s Office have charged one 18-year-old, Patrick Marshall of Norwich, and two 15-year-olds of North Norwich and Sherburne, with eight counts of disorderly conduct and one count of fourth degree mischief. Marshall received eight charges of disorderly conduct, a misdemeanor, and the youths received juvenile appearance tickets for fourth degree mischief.
The sheriff’s department started receiving several complaints on the weekend of June 1. Police said the three traveled between North Norwich, Norwich and Sherburne. The group allegedly fired at homes, cars and any other personal property that presented itself as a target of opportunity. Most of the paintballs did not cause serious damage, although some property was destroyed.
