Sherburne Lions Club hosts July 4 festivities

SHERBURNE – For years the Sherburne Lions Club has been holding 4th of July festivities for the entire town to enjoy, and according with live music, baseball, food, fireworks and fun, this year’s festivities are sure to be a treat.

Sherburne’s Independence Day celebration will begin at noon in Paddleford Park. Local singer Cassidy Lynn, a 19 year old who, according to her web site, has opened for stars like Charlie Pride, Trick Pony and many others, will kick off the festivities from noon to 2 p.m. as she sings a mix of country western songs. For this event, Lynn will be giving a solo performance, without back-up from her band Skyline.

Local D.J. Shelly Harris will be spinning some familiar tunes from 3 to 6 p.m., after which, another local performer will take the stage. Dan Kwasnick and his band The Nightriders will perform an array of songs from 7 to 10 p.m.

“The best part is there is no admission charge,” said Lions Club Member Sue Gosline. A wide variety of food will be available, including cotton candy, hamburgers, hot dogs and a chicken barbecue.
