Oxford invites Blackhawks back for alumni weekend
OXFORD – In recognition of the Oxford Blackhawk Alumni Association (OBAA)’s 4th annual Alumni Weekend, the Oxford Historical Society (OHS) announced that the historical Depot-Museum will be open on Saturday, July 28th, from 9 a.m. until noon. There will be stacks of old Oxford Blackhawk yearbooks, old Academy photos, pennants, and other school memorabilia on display especially for visiting Oxford alumnus to peruse and reminisce. This is a great place to run into old classmates as the yearbooks and pictures always draw a crowd.
While you’re at the Museum be sure to inquire about the fund raising raffle for a, “Souvenir of Oxford, NY” antique book. This “Photo-Gravure” collection of souvenir images has a copyright of 1893 by Mrs. A. L. Scott of Oxford; published by the Albertype Co., of Brooklyn. This book, in very good shape, is filled with black and white photos of residences and businesses all over Oxford and would be coveted by any collector of Oxford post cards or memorabilia.
