Miss Teen pageant set for fair
NORWICH – Gillespie Pageants announced today that the 38th Annual Miss Chenango Co. Teen-Ager Pageant will be held at the Chenango County Fair on Tuesday, Augu. 7. This pageant is open to single girls 13-18 years of age who lives, works or goes to school in Chenango County. The first Miss Chenango County Pageant was held at the fair in 1970 - and the event has been featured every year since that. Reigning Miss Chenango County Teen-Ager - Felicia Jones of Sherburne - will preside and crown her successor - who will then represent Chenango County in the 34th Annual Miss Teen-Ager Pageant of New York - held at the Norwich High School on Saturday, Aug. 18.
In addition to the Miss Teen-Ager Pageant, the afternoon will feature the Chenango Fair St*rs Pageant - which has openings for the following ages:
Bab Boys 0 - 12 & 13 - 24 months
Baby Girls 0 - 12 & 13 - 24 months
Boys 2 - 3; 4 - 5 and 6 - 10
Girls 2 - 3; 4 - 5; 6 - 8 and 9 - 12
Interested contestants or parents may obtain an official entry package with no obligation by contacting Gillespie Pageants at 334-9556 - or may pick one up at the Chenango County Fair Office. St*rs and babies contestants may live in Chenango or any surrounding county. Every contestant in the pageant will receive a beautiful trophy for competing and each age group winner will receive a Trophy, Sash of Office, Crown and a paid entry to the New York State Pageant of the St*rs - held in Cortland in November.
