Oxford police searching for thieves whole stole 69 bottles of liquor

OXFORD – Police are on the lookout for additional suspects involved in a burglary that resulted in 69 bottles of liquor being taken from a business in the Village of Oxford.
The Oxford Police Department has arrested a 17-year-old-youth in connection with the crime and said more arrests are pending.
Police said burglars attempted to break into the Ye Old Shanty liquor store on Rt. 12 repeatedly, first on Sunday, July 29 at 11:41 p.m., and again later that night, on July 30, at 3:43 and 4:53 a.m. The final attempt gained the suspects entry around 5 a.m. July 30, by breaking in the front door.
Police believe an unknown number of youths broke into the store and stole 69 bottles of liquor, ranging from strong spirits to liqueurs and mixers.
Police are still searching for the remaining bottles and are asking anyone with information to contact them at 843-2333. All calls will be kept confidential.
The 17-year-old-youth is charged with third degree burglary, third degree criminal trespass, fourth degree criminal mischief, second degree obstructing government administration, resisting arrest, petit larceny, fifth degree criminal possession of stolen property, disorderly conduct and consumption of alcohol, with a blood alcohol level of .15 percent. Police said they recovered two of the missing bottles from the youth. The youth also allegedly had a stolen bike in his possession at the time of his arrest. Police said they are investigating three other youths over the incident and more arrests and charges are pending.
The youth was remanded to the county jail on $250 cash bail.
