Sherburne Music Theater Society presents “Just Desserts”

SHERBURNE – A good mystery and a sweet treat often go well together, and on Saturday, Sept. 29 you’ll have the chance to enjoy both as the Sherburne Music Theater Society presents the murder mystery “Just Desserts.”
“Just Desserts” is an exciting play that centers around the mystery of who killed Judge Cogsworth. All the characters seem to have a motive, and as the dinner theater type production plays out, the audience will have a chance to decipher the clues.
“This is not your typical dinner theater production,,” said director Rick Thormahlen. “In fact, we are going to forego dinner and only serve desserts.”
The play will not be held as an audience participation event, although the spectators will have the chance to decipher the clues as they enjoy an array of chocolate treats and desserts.
Following intermission, audience members will be invited to present the evidence, ultimately leading to a successful solution to the question of who killed Judge Cogsworth.
“In the end everyone will leave satisfied, except for the murderer(s), who will receive their ‘just desserts,’” said Thormahlen.
The Sherburne Music Theater Society will present “Just Desserts” at 7:30 on Sept. 29 at the Palace Theater in Hamilton. The play will take place in conjunction with the festivities of the Great Chocolate Train Wreck. Tickets will be available at the door the night of the event.
“Enjoy a thrilling end to the day’s activities with a little mystery, a little comedy, and lots of tasty desserts,” Thormahlen said.
