Fetish Lane appears at 6 On The Square

OXFORD – Traditionally families will be together this holiday, there’s plenty of food, but what to do? Look no further than Oxford, as 6 On The Square (6OTS) has both shopping and entertainment this weekend.
On Friday, 6OTS will open their “Holiday Shoppe” from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. They’ll have gifts and necessities crafted by local artists and craftspeople: wooden toys, hand made soaps, herbal tea blends, coffees, knitted scarves, gift baskets, pottery, jewelry, woven scarves, placemats and rugs, and ornaments to delight all ages!  If you’re not sure what to purchase, -they offer gift certificates- treat your friends and family to upcoming shows!
Other Thanksgiving weekend events: 6OTS welcomes back Fetish Lane who will perform on Friday at 7:30 p.m.  This local favorite kicked off our Grand Opening Weekend in June and are with us again to kick off the Holiday season. It’s hard to pigeonhole the music of Fetish Lane - it’s a little bit folk, a little bit rock, and a whole lot of attitude! Tight harmonies, melodies that linger, and all backed by a driving percussion. This 6 piece group will indeed start your season with a big mule kick! Purchase tickets on-line at the discounted price of $8; $10 on the day of the show.
On Saturday, 6OTS presents roots music performer David LaFleur. Folk, Appalachian, blues, bluegrass, LaFleur superbly plays it all. His newest CD “Shepherds Pie” has 2 award-winning songs on it. He will have a special afternoon performance for kids of all ages at 3 p.m. - and it will be $5 for 2 adults and any number of kids to join him, thanks to generous sponsors.
That evening at 7:30 p.m., David will return for a performance of roots music and story telling. Purchase tickets on-line at the discounted price of $12; $15 on the day of the show.
Doors open at 6:30 p.m. both nights. Visit the website at www.6onthesquare.org for tickets and future event information.
Book this now: Toby Walker will be offering an afternoon Intermediate level blues guitar Master Class on Saturday, Dec. 8. This 90 minute class will bring in elements of Toby’s unique style as well as traditional blues fingering and picking.  Pre-registration is required for this class, and class size is limited.
