Police investigate rash of break-ins

NORWICH – Late Friday night, police investigated a rash of burglaries in the Town of Norwich that took place along Rt. 12.
The New York State Troopers and Chenango County Sheriff’s Office responded to reports of three to five commercial break-ins Friday.
State Police reported the culprits have been taking petty cash and other items. Police also said the local break-ins could be related to other recent burglaries that have taken place in the Sidney and Oneonta areas.
The investigation is still continuing and police had little information they could release at this time.
The Chenango County Sheriff’s Office was unavailable for comment Monday morning.
