Dollar General grand opening in Oxford
OXFORD – The new Dollar General, #11151, held a Grand Opening Celebration and Ribbon Cutting in front of the Oxford store Saturday. On hand for the event was Tammi Cady the Dollar General District Manager; Sharla Wolcott the Oxford Store Manager; Ann Marie Smith, Assistant Manager; and staff members: Amanda Brownell, Preston Newberry and Larry Snyder Sr..
Village of Oxford Mayor Terry M. Stark, welcomed Wolcott and officially cut the ribbon.
The new store, located at 1 North Washington Avenue (at the former Great American) opened its doors to the waiting public and offered them several Grand Opening free gifts. Staff members gave away big mesh shopping bags, cosmetic bags filled with samples from Procter & Gamble, a scarf, and a coupon for free Mean Green cleaner. There also was a door prize raffle for an Audiovox DVD Player, refreshments, and special bargain buys over the weekend.
The Oxford Dollar General has 8,145 square feet of space filled with merchandise such as housewares, seasonal items, cleaning supplies, basic apparel, and more. They also have food, national and private brands, as well as milk. Prices are kept low with about a third of the merchandise sold for just $1 or less. They employ approximately six to ten people.
