Award winning Blues artist Little Toby Walker at 6 On The Square Saturday
OXFORD – On Saturday, 6 On The Square is proud to present, Band In The Hand Recording Artist, Little Toby Walker. That afternoon (with advanced registration), guitar players will be honing their finger-picking skills with this master of the blues. That evening, folks with a passion for the blues will be entertained by Toby’s unique guitar fingering style combined with old-fashioned story telling.
From 2 to 3:30 p.m. - Award Winning Artist, Little Toby Walker will be teaching an Intermediate Level Blues Guitar Master Class. Toby has taught everyone from school children through adults, sharing what he has learned on his travels throughout the southern US, jammin’ with seasoned blues musicians. From designing the Carnegie Hall “American Roots” series program for NYC middle school kids (featured in the Sunday NY Times) to his private students, Toby coaches each player at their level and moves them up another. This musician’s musician, Walker is currently endorsed by ‘National Guitars’ and is also currently a guitar instructor with Hot Tuna guitarist, Jorma Kaukonen’s Fur Peace Ranch. Class size is limited, and pre-registration is required by December 5th. Cost is $35 per person, $30 for 6OTS members.

Toby Walker has a long list of credentials having appeared in a variety of music publications, he’s been on several national radio and television broadcasts and performed at many of the national blues shows. He’s shared billing with folks like Richie Havens, Bo Didley, Savoy Brown, Sonny Landreth, and more. Toby is the New York recipient of the International Blues Challenge Award, held annually in Memphis, TN.
